Fun Fall Activities With Kids
Are you sad that summer has finally come to an end? Luckily, fall is a season filled with exciting events and activities that will help your summer blues fade away. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy the amazing transition of seasons by partaking in some of our favourite fall activities that the whole family will enjoy.
Spend Time Outside
Just because it’s become a bit chillier outside doesn’t mean you shouldn’t spend any time outdoors. Fall still boasts some beautiful sunny days and it’s important to enjoy them before the full force of the Canadian winter sets in. Spend some quality family time outside raking leaves or setting up some scarecrows. Preparing your garden and home for winter is essential. By spending time outside with the whole family, you’re able to complete these much needed tasks while your little ones enjoy some fresh air.
Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Let’s face it. Thanksgiving and Halloween are nearly synonymous with fall. A day outing to your local pumpkin patch is an exciting adventure for kids but also makes for an amazing photo opportunity! With a backdrop of blue skies and orange fields, your visit will be sure to result in a photograph you’ll treasure forever.
Arts and Crafts
When the weather isn’t cooperating, consider setting up some arts and crafts on the dining room table that you can complete as a family. Some popular options include hedgehog pinecones, acorn mobiles, apple stamps, and wreaths! If you don’t feel like getting too elaborate, just place some paper and crayons on the table and let your kid’s imagination lead the way!
Try a New Recipe
We’ve all come across the pumpkin themed drinks and treats lining the shelves of our local coffee shops and grocery stores, but have you ever tried making any at home? Baking or cooking as a family teaches your children valuable skills that they can transfer to other aspects of their life. For example, baking instructions improve a child’s reading and analytical ability. Just be sure to start off with something simple so no one gets overwhelmed.
