Pansies
This stunning flower actually prefers colder weather, which makes it an ideal time to plant. Use this in containers or window boxes to add a pop of color. Pansies are a fairly common flower and therefore can be found at any outdoor or home improvement store.
Hellebores
Known as the Christmas rose, this plant can even tolerate a mild amount of frost, making it an ideal candidate to transition into warmer weather. For optimal results, this beauty should be planted in a shaded area with moist, well-drained soil.
Snowdrop Anemones
This crisp white flower is fragrant and works best in a garden that is slightly shaded. Also, this flower may have a second
bloom in the fall if the conditions are ideal so all the more motivation to take care of them!
Lilacs
This wonderfully fragrant flower is best suited for areas of full sun with well-drained soil. Lilacs also make for beautiful centerpieces so make sure to keep some on hand for your next dinner party.
Lavender
Lavender is another fragrant plant that is a great addition to every garden! Be sure to plant it in the early spring before the soil becomes too dry and difficult to cultivate. Throughout the spring and summer, you can cut off some pieces and dry them, making for fragrant buds that can be kept throughout the home.
