Happy New Year!
We would like to start off by wishing you a Happy New Year on behalf of Linley Park Estates. 2016 has arrived and one cannot help but to think where 2015 went, it seems as though every year is going by quicker and quicker! However, as with the change of every year, there also comes the often broken promises to make changes and lead a happier more balanced life. Here are some of our top tips and tricks to stick with your New Years resolution:
Be realistic
Do not set a goal that you know you will not be able to achieve. Instead, set more realistic and attainable objectives because at the end of the day they will leave you feeling more accomplished and less discouraged. A major problem resulting in the breaking of New Years resolutions is when people feel discouraged, so avoid this and only set goals you know you can attain.
Have a clear purpose
Do not simply set a goal because it is a New Year. Your goal should reflect something you have wanted to do for a long time and not a spur of the moment decision. If you do so your chances of success will be that much higher.
Be patient
As common as it may sound, everything does take time and with patience your goals will be achieved. Setting goals that are long term will have a greater impact on your life even though they take more time to accomplish.
Type of goal
Try to set less physical goals and instead embrace mindset goals. Mindset goals could include being more positive, embracing change, trying new things and many others. These are easier to achieve and as a result of them physical goals may also be achieved.
Have a plan
Having a goal is an excellent first step, but without a plan the chances of achieving it are significantly decreased. Make sure you are successful by creating a multi step plan that provides a clear framework for your goal to be achieved.
